Mark Borst, BSLA, CLT
Founder

Mark C. Borst, BSLA, CLT is the founder of Borst Landscape & Design. Having established the company in 1989, he has grown it into one of the most prominent design/build, lawn care, and landscape maintenance firms in Northern New Jersey.

Following his transition from presidency in 2025, Mark dedicates his efforts to steering the company’s strategic vision and driving new business ventures, utilizing his extensive background in landscape design to mentor and shape future projects. He received his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University.

Instrumental in establishing New Jersey’s Certified Landscape Technician testing program, Mark continues to uphold high industry standards. His commitment to education and community service is evident in his role as an adjunct professor and advisory board member at Bergen Community College, as well as his dedication to the Wyckoff community through the Wyckoff Shade Tree Commission and the Township of Wyckoff Board of Adjustment.

Mark and his wife Heather, married since 1994, enjoy life in Wyckoff, NJ with their three children; Erin, Sara, and Nate.

Dominick Capone
President

Dominick Capone serves as the President of Borst Landscape & Design, bringing over 15 years of experience in the lawncare and landscaping industry. Having started his career in the field, Dominick advanced through various management roles at some of the nation’s largest lawncare companies before serving as Vice President at Borst for 3 years. His journey exemplifies a growth mindset and a commitment to excellence.

He also serves on the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Turfgrass Association, an organization dedicated to promoting and advancing the science and art of turfgrass management through education, research, and advocacy.

As President of Borst, Dominick sets the vision for the company and collaborates with the senior leadership team to execute strategies that drive success. He fosters a culture of accountability and growth, empowering team members through the company’s Leadership Development Program, which creates career opportunities and supports professional development. Under his leadership, Borst Landscape & Design aligns its mission with two fundamental rules: take care of our clients and take care of our associates.

Outside of work, Dominick is a devoted family man. When he’s not on the lake with his wife and two sons, he enjoys spending time on the golf course with his friends.

Lisa Hansell, CPA
Controller

Lisa Hansell holds a BBA in Public Accounting from Pace University. She joined Mariani Premier Group in 2024 as an experienced Controller and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over 25 years of expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and corporate governance. Throughout her career she has demonstrated a strong ability to streamline operations, ensure compliance, and drive financial success in diverse industries.

Lisa is dedicated to delivering accurate financial insights and supporting organizational growth.

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time at the beach with her family, where she recharges and finds inspiration for her next big challenge.

Jason Crean, CLT
General Manager

Jason Crean brings over 25 years of industry experience to his role as General Manager, with a career that began in 1997 at Borst. Starting as a Lawn Care Technician, his journey through roles such as Maintenance Laborer, Foreman, Division Manager, and Director of Maintenance, culminates in his current leadership position.

As General Manager, Jason is pivotal in overseeing the operations of maintenance, design/build, and fleet departments, ensuring operational efficiency and quality project completion. He aligns the sales and operational teams to meet revenue growth targets and client satisfaction, guiding department heads to integrate operations with strategic sales goals. Jason’s expertise extends to financial management, optimizing budgets to achieve profit and EBITDA objectives, and leading process optimization for better scalability and revenue margins.

Jason is also a Certified Landscape Technician, bringing a high level of professional expertise and technical knowledge to his overarching management duties.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jason enjoys spending time with his family, coaching his sons’ baseball teams, and contributing to his community as a Fireman for the Midland Park Fire Department.
